Cottonwood Crotch #603

This 15" natural-edge cottonwood bowl showcases highly figured feather grain. Turned to its finished thickness while the timber was still green, the bowl was then allowed to dry naturally, allowing the wood to warp and move into its own unique form. The natural edge preserves the original character of the tree, creating an irregular silhouette that makes each piece one of a kind. The highly figured cottonwood reveals shifting grain patterns and depth throughout the bowl, giving the surface a look reminiscent of light traveling through water. Finished with multiple coats of Danish wiping oil, the piece brings out the warmth and natural beauty of the wood while preserving its organic character.
