Remain is an 8" maple bowl shaped by the natural character of the tree, with knots and irregularities preserved throughout the form. The knots are finished with subtle kintsugi-inspired brass, drawing attention to the places where the wood fractured or changed as it grew. Rather than hiding these marks, the piece embraces them as part of the bowl’s story and identity. The pale maple grain provides a quiet contrast to the darker knots and metallic details, allowing each element to stand on its own. Remain is a study in accepting what is left behind and finding beauty in the things that endure.
