These 4 to 6 inch bowls are turned from box elder burl harvested in Salt Lake City, each one carrying the wild and unpredictable character that makes burl wood so unique. Swirling grain, natural voids, and shifting color patterns give every piece its own personality, making no two bowls alike. Though small in scale, each bowl holds an incredible amount of detail and movement within the wood.

Natural fissures and openings were carefully repaired using brass in the spirit of the kintsugi technique, allowing the imperfections to become part of the design rather than something hidden away. The contrast between the warm tones of the burl and the reflective brass gives each bowl a quiet sense of depth and history.

Finished with Danish oil, the wood was brought to a soft glow that highlights the natural figure and warmth of the burl. Whether used to hold jewelry, keys, or simply displayed on their own, these bowls are meant to feel personal and lived with, carrying the idea that beauty often comes from the marks left behind over time.
