The Quiet

The Quiet is an 8 inch cherry bowl shaped around the idea that not everything meaningful asks to be seen immediately. The warmth of the cherry carries softly through the grain, while natural fractures in the wood were carefully repaired using brass kintsugi, allowing the history of the piece to remain visible rather than hidden away. The brass lines move gently across the surface, catching light in quiet moments without overpowering the wood itself.

Finished with a food safe Danish oil, the bowl was brought to a soft glow that highlights the warmth and depth naturally present within the cherry. The Quiet is meant to feel calm and grounded, like an object that slowly reveals more of itself over time. It is a piece about stillness, repair, and the beauty found in things that continue forward carrying their scars openly.
