The Well

Turned from Oregon walnut, The Well is a 14" walnut beauty, with a dark interior which draws inward like a void, while the softened rim and continuous curve create the feeling of something carved slowly over time rather than manufactured. Part of the Eclipse series, this piece reflects on shadow not as absence, but as presence: quiet, heavy, and grounding while being curiously light to the touch.

Finished with multiple layers of Danish oil and sanded to an 800-grit polish, the walnut carries a deep natural glow that shifts subtly beneath changing light. The surface feels almost weightless to the touch, allowing the grain to move like liquid across the form. The Well exists as an object of stillness; a study in depth, reflection, and the beauty found beneath the surface.
