These bowls are made to order.

Yang is a 17″ bowl turned from Utah-sourced ash, with a natural exterior and deeply charred Shou Sugi Ban interior. From the outside, the pale grain and natural character of the ash remain untouched, while the inside reveals a dark, textured surface transformed by fire. The contrast creates two very different expressions from a single piece of wood, depending on how the bowl is viewed. Its simple form keeps the focus on the relationship between the natural surface and the burned interior. Turned, burned, and finished by hand, Yang explores the balance between light and dark, preservation and transformation.
